You've made it this far, to scope out your Celebrant and next bff.

My name is Pat Coelho. I'm a young, fun and upbeat & Schitt's Creek obsessed Canberra Marriage Celebrant. I am a husband, a dog dad, and an all-round fun time! My friends describe me as fun, funny and unique. Delivering fun and memorable wedding ceremonies is something I am truly passionate about. All of my couples are unique in every way and very special to me.

By booking me, you get me exclusively for the whole day, as I don’t take multiple bookings on the same day. This way if you’re running late or just decide you need more time to relax, I’m happy to wait and work around you.

The way I run, all you do is show up on your special day, say "I do" and I'll take care of the rest - including the legal stuff and a rehearsal on the week of your wedding.

Essentially, you get my 100% attention on your wedding day. I endeavour to make your wedding as special and as unique to you and your partner as possible and as your Marriage Celebrant, I do what you say (not the other way round). I will walk you through (step by step) everything you need to do to get married, this way you don’t have to worry about a thing!

Slide into my DMs - the first step is to get in touch with a bit about you and your chosen date. If I’m available, the three of us arrange to meet in person to discuss your special day and more importantly, see if I’m the right fit for you!

We’ve discussed & we want you! – Yep, I totally get that, hahaha! If you decide to go with me, the next step is for you to complete a questionnaire, which will allow me to take care of all of the formalities. You’ll need to sign a few documents, I’ll complete a few checks, but otherwise this part is the boring part.

Next, the three of us will catch up again to smash out the legal stuff and have an in-depth discussion about your special day. Plus, having a cheeky beverage in the process wouldn’t go a miss.

This is the fun bit… This is where all our teamwork comes into play and we get to bring your ceremony to life & get you married! I will arrive super early to your ceremony and work out my game plan, so all you have to do is show up and say “I do”!

Within 24 - 48 hours, I submit your documentation to births, deaths and marriages (BDM) to have your marriage registered.

BDM advise me that your marriage has been registered, which I then forward this notification to you and I advise you how you can apply for your legal marriage certificate, which is posted to you in the mail (welcome to 2024!) THAT’S IT!
